Hi everyone. First off, we’d like to apologize for the lack of updates or activity lately. It has been a time of transition and refocus for us as a (small) organization. Primarily our President, Joey Caudill, has recently relocated by to Wilkes County. During this time, we have been trying to focus our efforts on who we are and what we are here to do. We are finalizing a lot of these plans currently, but wanted to update everyone on where we are.

Update on James

James is stable and continues to slowly improve. It has been almost one year since his accident and though his progress has slowed, we still ask for your continued prayers for him and his family.

Day of Prayer for Victims of Traumatic Brain Injuries

With that in mind, the anniversary of James’s accident will be Tuesday October 15th. On this day and the following day Wednesday October 16th, we would ask each of you to individually and corporately pray for victims of Brain Injuries. The 16th is a Wednesday and we know a number of you participate in midweek services at your local churches. Please take a moment during these services to remember all that are affected by these injuries, James and the Caudill family, as well as Logan Byrd and the Byrd family. We will post a Facebook Event to serve as a means for you to help get the word out about this and to serve as a reminder next week.

Focus of Efforts

As we mentioned, James’s improvement has remained constant, though has slowed significantly recently. Bearing that in mind, we as a Foundation want to be good stewards of the generous gifts we have received from all of you and faithful to the goals that we set out upon our inception. We have recently sent a gift, not from us, but from all of you to Allen and Sherry Byrd. Also, we have helped purchase supplies for James.

Knowing, though that prevention is the best prescription, we hope to begin focusing our efforts on Traumatic Brain Injury education, awareness, and prevention. Stay connected with us on the website, Facebook, and Twitter for updates on events as they come together.

Need a Vacation?

Mentioning the generosity that has been poured out to us, we have received a gift certificate for a two night stay at the lovely Davidson Village Inn in Davidson, NC. This can be used anytime between December 13th and January 12th. It would make a great gift or an opportunity to treat yourself while getting in that last minute Christmas shopping. We will be auctioning this off via our Facebook page. So, if you haven’t done so, LIKE us on Facebook and happy bidding. The funds will go into our general fund and be used to further the efforts of The C Foundation.

Again, we thank each one of you for your support and prayers as we seek to help and honor our brother and friend James by helping him and others in our community.

Sincerely,

The Board of the James F. Caudill Traumatic Brain Injury Foundation
